Are you a student in middle school, high school, or college? Think you have what it takes to create a short film in 48 hours? Want to get your film screened and maybe even win amazing prize bundles? This is a super fun challenge for student filmmakers to test their limits and win amazing opportunities. Registration for the event is now open, so enter today!

The Pegasus Annual Video Race, presented in partnership with the Video Association of Dallas, continues the legacy of the Dallas 24-hour-video-race, now with an added 24 hours for a total of 48 hours of filmmaking excitement. Open to both in-state and out-of-state students, this competition features two categories: Middle/High School Students and College Students, providing opportunities for individuals or teams to participate.

The competition will commence with the Kickoff Event on February 24th in-person at Arts Mission Oak Cliff in Dallas, where participants will receive the film prompt and required elements. (You may also watch virtually - teams will be emailed the prompt.) Teams will then have 48 hours to create and submit their film by the deadline of Sunday, February 26th at 11:59 PM.

All submitted films will be screened at the LOOK Cinema movie theater in Dallas on March 4th, with the top 4 films from each category advancing to the Pegasus Film Festival. The winning teams will receive an award bundle and VIP festival tickets, making this a fantastic opportunity for student filmmakers. Register now to be a part of the Annual Video Race!

Friday, February 24th:

• Video Race Kickoff Event at Arts Mission Oak Cliff from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Prompt & Required Elements Announced at Midnight. 

• Registration Deadline (11:00 PM)

Rules: 

• Film Length: 2 to 5 mins (including title and credits)

• No copyrighted music or images are permitted.

Sunday, February 26th:

• Film Submission Deadline (11:59 PM)

• Tech Specs: H264, MP4 format. Hi-res (720p or higher). Provide a downloadable link on Vimeo or a downloadable link on Google-drive by Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, 11:59 PM. Email to PEGASUSFILMFESTIVAL@GMAIL.COM.

Saturday, March 4th:

• 1 PM to 3 PM Film Screenings & Awards.
